Chiropractic Team Cares for New York's Homeless
Posted:Wed, 23 Jul 2008 08:10:00 -0400
Chiropractic News:- By Michael Dorausch, DCThere's something about those New York chiropractors. Like others living in New York, we tend to paint them as abrasive and hard-edged, with a penchant for taking care of business in a swift and timely matter. A chiropractic adjustment delivered in a New York minute may differ greatly from a West Coast chiropractors hour and 45 minute wellness session, which may or may not include valet parking of ones Range Rover and a preparation of H2O infused with imported minerals, intended to improve cellular function (and introduce patients to the mlm downline). But not all New York chiropractors have the on screen personality of Bruce Willis, many I have met live with their hearts and soul immersed in dedication to serving a principle that BJ Palmer called "the biggest idea I know." One such chiropractor was featured in yesterday's edition of the New York Times and it reminded me...

Digital Pedometers for Walking and Measuring Steps
Posted:Tue, 22 Jul 2008 07:20:00 -0400
Chiropractic News:- By Michael DorauschOne of the easiest and most important forms of exercise is walking. And like any other type of exercise, performance tends to improve when that performance can be measured. A number of chiropractors recommend activities such as walking after one receives an adjustment. Chiropractors like Dr. Steve Visentin of Colorado, have taken things a step further by recommending (and even giving away) digital pedometers, so people can measure their distances walked, and take a more active role in personal health improvement.Research has suggested that people following a pedometer based walking program tend to increase the steps daily they take. This comes back to the principal that when you measure performance it tends to improve. In the times that I've worn a digital pedometer on my hip, I found myself looking for extra steps to take. Wearing a pedometer, I'm more aware...

Chiropractors Knowing This Principle
Posted:Sat, 19 Jul 2008 07:44:00 -0400
Chiropractic News:- By Michael Dorausch, DC"And as chiropractors, knowing this principle, we have the amalgam that will bring all of the wellness world together. All of the exercise people, all of the nutrition people, all of the psychological people, all of the spiritually based people – when you apply the sciences of the world to a very simple principle that the body is a self-healing self-regulating organism, and that whatever your science is, when applied, should nurture that principle – we have a singleness of purpose." - Ian Grassam, ChiropractorThis is the 7th installment of a historically motivational lecture delivered by chiropractor Ian Grassam in February of 1997. More than 8000 Complaints about Gardasil, including Death
Posted:Tue, 8 Jul 2008 18:45:00 -0400
Chiropractic News:- By Michael Dorausch, DCIt's ugly looking news for the makers of Gardasil, a vaccine that is intended to guard against four strains of the human papillomavirus (HPV). A blizzard of news reports are out today, regarding complaints involving the shot, which reportedly number over 8000, and include numerous reported cases of paralysis and at least 18 deaths. Meanwhile, the vaccine maker is standing by its product, and the Centers for Disease Control suggests there is no reason to believe the deaths are linked to Gardasil.Shares for the maker of the vaccine, Merck, fell sharply today amid a worry over future Gardasil sales. The vaccine has apparently been a blockbuster for the ginormous drug manufacturer, as an estimated 8 million females have already received HPV vaccination via the companies product. Currently, they have the market cornered on vaccines of this nature, as Glaxo's Cervarix...
Meet a Chiropractor - Nicholas Campos of West Hollywood
Posted:Mon, 7 Jul 2008 17:45:00 -0400
Chiropractic News:- By Daria BelovOne of the beauties of the chiropractic profession is the individuality expressed by practicing doctors of chiropractic. As Dr. Darrel Crain mentioned in his article on technique, there are many paths to the top of the mountain, but the view at the top is always the same. When it comes to patient care, there are chiropractors worldwide serving masses of people, in an effort to assist them in reaching the mountaintop of good health. One of those chiropractors is Dr. Nicholas Campos of Los Angeles, California. I had the pleasure of interviewing him recently for this Planet Chiropractic article, and I'm pleased to share his story.

Community Minimizes Classified Ad Fraud Activity
Posted:Fri, 4 Jul 2008 08:46:00 -0400
Chiropractic News:- By Daria BelovActive community participation is key to building an empowered community. When it comes to the Planet Chiropractic Classified ad System, participation is not a requirement, but it is critical to community success. For many users of the ad system, participation is equals browsing advertisements, posting ads, contacting buyers and sellers, and basically using the service as it was intended. While that's great (and we are thankful for the amount of user activity the site receives) I've been impressed by the stepped up participation, particularly among sellers of private equipment. Those that assume ads are viewed only by chiropractors may be forgetting the internet is a big place and ads are viewable by all who choose to search or browse them (ads do appear in search engine results). We have covered topics related to scam emails,

A Simple Truth regarding Failure
Posted:Wed, 2 Jul 2008 20:55:00 -0400
Chiropractic News:- By Brian Nardi, DCDo you accept failures as truth? Many of us do and it is unfortunate. When you accept a failure as truth you limit your potential and artificially lower the “norm.”It is no more evident than in health care. Our western society has developed a system of health care based on failures and accepted it as normal and unfortunately as healthy. A colleague of mine recently had a conversation with an orthopedic surgeon who specialized in spinal surgery. The surgeon was profusely admitting the failures of his profession. That of all people who go in for a spine surgery over half will be back within a couple of years to have the same procedure on a different area. Again, over half will return within a couple of years for the same surgery. And the cycle continues to repeat itself. I ask, how is this helpful? An April 2008 study stated between the years 2002 and 2004 over $2 Billion were spent on

Each chiropractor brings to the profession a uniqueness and individual sense of self. They take the clay of chiropractic foundation, and mold it into shapes that form the representation of themselves as a doctor of chiropractic. Autism Vaccination Discussion Continues On

Chiropractic News:- By Michael Dorausch, DCNews of autism and questionable connections to mass child vaccination programs, continue to spark fiery discussions that separate those that feel there is distinct link between vaccination in the development of autism, and those who claim there is no signs to support such accusations. The topic of vaccination and autism is in the news again this weekend as federal health officials reportedly held a meeting today to discuss a case of a nine-year-old girl who became autistic after receiving numerous vaccinations. They are also discussing another case, in which a six-year-old girl from Colorado received a flu vaccine (FluMist) and died after becoming weak, and being hospitalized for surgical intervention.Death of a child is a high price to pay for vaccinating against the flu, especially when
