iPhone 4.0 to Integrate Multitasking this Summer? [Rumors]
Posted:Thu, 11 Mar 2010 13:30:00 -0500
Lifehacker:- Apple will include much-asked-for application multitasking functionality when they release the iPhone 4.0 update sometime this summer, according to all-things-Apple blog AppleInsider. Multitasking (more specifically, the ability to run third-party applications in the background) is one of those big pieces of functionality that separates the iPhone OS from Android, and while Apple's sort of worked around this problem with push notifications, there are instances when there's no substitute for multitasking. Fingers crossed that this one comes true. [AppleInsider via Gizmodo]

FCC Considers Dedicating Portion of U.S. Wireless Spectrum to Free Wi-Fi [Wi-Fi]
Posted:Tue, 9 Mar 2010 16:15:00 -0500
Lifehacker:- The FCC is considering dedicating a portion of the wireless spectrum to "free or a very low cost wireless broadband service," according to Reuters. They didn't offer much in terms of details, and you can file this one under the believe-it-when-we-see-it category, but it's a nice thought. [Reuters via Gizmodo] More »
